Anne of Green Gables

June 2 - 4

Adapted & directed by Daniel Sessions Stephens
From the Novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery

Anne Shirley, a young orphan from the fictional community of Bolingbroke, Novia Scotia is sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, unmarried siblings in their fifties and sixties, after a childhood spent in strangers’ homes and orphanages. Marilla and Matthew had originally decided to adopt a boy from the orphanage to help Matthew run their farm at Green Gables. Through a misunderstanding, the orphanage sends Anne instead.
Anne is fanciful, imaginative, eager to please, and dramatic. She is also adamant her name should always be spelt with an e at the end.
Anne of Green Gables, the 1908 classic novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, comes to life with CTP’s Sound&Stage. A small cast of actors will create live sound effects and together they will portray all the characters in this charming classic.

Tales of The Nutcracker

November 3 - 5

Written & Directed by Daniel Sessions Stephens

Each holiday season, visions of Sugar Plums literally dance in our heads as we indulge in the ballet version of The Nutcracker. While many are familiar with the ballet, most are unaware that the story was first written by E.T.A. Hoffman in 1816. His strange but delightful The Nutcracker and the Mouse King was adapted by Alexandre Dumas in 1845. The Dumas version, The History of the Nutcracker, served as the basis for the Tchaikovsky ballet. Daniel Sessions Stephens weaves the history and stories of the stalwart wooden soldier into a new tale accompanied by some of Tchaikovsky’s beloved music. Join us for this holiday delight!
